Award season... what?!

Tuesday, 6 July 2010 03:51 by david
Coming home from vacation I found this on my doorstep.
It was from Highlights for Children for one of the best illustrations of the year.
My first thought was I understand if it was from a publication that uses
1 illustration a year.... but come on. Thanks!

Whoa whoa whoa... squawk!

Wednesday, 17 March 2010 02:58 by david
Here is an illustration for an article titled
"HITECH law includes privacy pitfall for advisers"
To top it off, the article was not available for reading.
Fortunately, the Art Director gave me the word "peril" to build on.
The lesson in this is pick apart the title.
I hung on the words ADVISORS and PITFALL.

Being Green

Tuesday, 16 February 2010 05:12 by david
When the sky is your limit and get to do just about whatever you want,
I enjoy including friends and family in illustrations.
Over the past years you will find painted my daughters, dog, and more.
And now a new one, my friend and neighbor M'ten.

This Black Enterprise illustration was for an article on investing
in planet friendly companies and still making money.
